The building of the Russian State Drama Theater named after Stanislavsky used to be a Russian church. Theatre was built in the 1930s. The architects of the building were Gevorg Kochari, Karo Halabyan and Mikael Mazmanyan.
The first performance that was played in this theater was Sheinin's play "Face to face".
We should remember Levon Kalantar, because he was the founder of the theater and the first artistic director. From the beginning, the theater's repertoire was based on works of Russian classical and modern drama.
The group of the theater participated in many international festivals and even won the "Grand Prix".
